COMPASS Learning Adventure
The premiere of this new HCLS initiative is presented in conjunction with PATAPSCO DAYS an annual exploration of the histories of Patapsco Valley. The inaugural learning module is full of activities, readings, and historic site visits that explore the history of community driven change. Learn about the protest movements and actions that prompted seismic political, environmental, and cultural changes in the Patapsco Valley area. Create your own learning adventure by selecting the activities, events, sites and readings that you find most interesting. Use the Thought Prompts to reflect on your experience and check off the activities as you complete them. You do not have to do all of them – complete as many as you wish. Reading a book or watching a film from the Patapsco Days Materials List may be substituted for any activity.
For every activity that you complete between now and March 31, 2019, you will earn an entry into a prize drawing! The more activities you complete, the better your chance to win. Completing 10 activities will unlock an additional entry into the drawing, as will completing the final survey. The winner will be randomly selected on April 8th. Winners will be notified by phone or email. This program is open to those who are 18 years of age or older.
