Meet the Author: Dr. Gordon Livingston
Dr. Gordon Livingston trained in adult and child psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University, where he is now a part-time assistant professor. He is a parent twice bereaved. His first book, Only Spring, described the death of his six-year-old son from leukemia. He is the author of the bestseller, Too Soon Old, Too Late Smart, which has been translated into 22 languages. His most recent book on fear and courage, The Thing You Think You Cannot Do, was published in April 2012.

Dr. Gordon Livingston discusses his latest book, The Thing You Think You Cannot Do: Thirty Truths About Fear and Courage. His trademark gifts--an unerring sense of what is important, and what Elizabeth Edwards characterized as "his unapologetic directness and his embracing compassion"--provide readers everywhere with a much-needed alternative to the trial-and-error learning that makes wisdom such an expensive commodity.
