Intro to Aero
In this class, students will gain an understanding of what aerospace engineering is, what some important concepts in the field are, and how to use the engineering design process to complete a task. Students will learn about the laws of physics, what makes vehicles fly, the structures required in such vehicles, and how orbits are used in space travel. The students will have the opportunity to use the design process to complete two tasks: to build an aluminum tower that can withstand significant force, and to safely land a rover (represented as an egg) on the ground from a specified height. Ages 11-18.

HiTech is funded in part by a National Leadership Grant for Libraries from IMLS. Visit hclibrary.org/hitech_events.
