Position Title: Library Grandparent - Guest Reader

Branch: Central, East Columbia, Elkridge, Glenwood, Miller, Savage

Department: Children’s Services

Major Responsibilities: 

• Select books appropriate for children, ages 2-5.
• Read books aloud to children on a drop-in basis, either in small informal groups or one-on-one. Express an enthusiasm for reading.

Training: Provided by children's instructors, if needed Qualifications:

• Must enjoy spending time with children.
• Experience reading aloud to children.
• Respect for diverse lifestyles, cultures, religions, and values.
• Cooperate with Library staff.

Length of commitment: At least six months  Time Involvement:  Two hours each week
