HeritageQuest   ** Available within the library & at home

Ancestry Library Edition and HeritageQuest Online are two separate sites but are sold by the same vendor (ProQuest). While there is a lot of overlap between them, basically, they are complementary services. For example the Ancestry collection of Census records tends to be more useful than HeritageQuest's Census collection. On the other hand, HeritageQuest has a stronger collection of family and local history books than Ancestry. Finally, HeritageQuest allows home access.

This free Howard County Government web site is a comprehensive geographic resource for all of Howard County. At a basic level, you can use it to create on-demand maps of your neighborhood or to locate Howard County public facilities. Additional information included with these on-demand maps allows you to find school assignments for your residence, crime statistics for the surrounding area, county council district assignment, etc. At a more advanced level, there are links to an extensive selection of map overlays.
