There were four registrations this week. Book 1193 was registered in both Laurel, MD and Spanish Fork, UT, and passed 1845 miles between the two places. Book 1193 is the first copy of Pay the Piper registered in Utah, and our second Pass the Book registration in the Beehive State. Copy 562 of The Secret Hour was registered in Riverton, UT back in December 2009.

In local news this week, book 1173 and book 768 were both registered in Laurel for the first time.

Five books were registered this week, including a fourth registration for book 1158, which was passed this week from Wichita, Kansas to Henderson, Nevada, just outside Las Vegas. Book 1158 has now traveled 2310 miles, and made four stops in four different states. Nevada is the sixth state to host a copy of Pay the Piper. In other news, book 658 was registered in Columbia, MD for the second time this week, and three books were registered for the first time, including book 20 and book 495, two copies of The Secret Hour.

Another week, another note-worthy pass for book 1158, which is now in Wichita, Kansas after stops in West Point, NY and Columbia, MD. Book 1158 has traveled 1327 miles, and is the twentieth book to be registered three times.

Two other books were registered for the first time this week: Book 658 was registered in Columbia, and book 877 popped up for the first time in downtown Baltimore close to the B & O railroad museum.

We’re pleased to report another international pass for Pay the Piper. February opened with book 1117, first registered in Jessup, MD  in November 2010, landing in Petworth, West Sussex, U.K., to the south-west of London. Book 1117 has traveled 3640 miles across the Atlantic, and has been registered twice.

Book 1117 is the first copy of Pay the Piper registered in England. Three copies of The Secret Hour (books 183, 468 and 585) were registered there last year. Book 468 was registered there twice.

Also this week, book 1158 has traveled 215 miles back from West Point NY to Columbia, MD.

Another week, another state! Thanks to a long-time friend of Pass the Book who helped us out with book 562 last year, book 1158 was registered this week in West Point, New York, 215 miles from Columbia, MD.

Within the United States there are now copies of Pay the Piper in Maryland, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Internationally there are books in Australia, India and Japan. Here are our current totals:

Book 941 was passed up I-270 from Clarksburg to Frederick this week, and registered for the second time.

We recorded another out-of-state pass this week, with another long-lost copy of The Secret Hour! Book 199, a copy first registered in Columbia, MD on June 17, 2010, was passed to Summerville, South Carolina on January 11. The book traveled 466 miles and is now located just to the north-west of Charleston. This is the second copy of The Secret Hour that has been passed to South Carolina. Book 54 was registered there on November 23, 2009, before being passed back to Maryland and on to Canada.

In local news, book 691 was registered in Ellicott City for the first time. Here is the update for this week:

Our totals continue to rise with each week of new registrations and passes. 345 different books have now been registered a total of 462 times. We’re getting closer to our 500th registration!

After book 1073 crossed the Pacific to Japan last week, Pass the Book has entered 2011 with another exciting international registration! On New Year’s Eve book 31, a copy of The Secret Hour first registered in Highland, MD in November 2009, found a second reader 4000 miles away in Ramstein-Miesenbach, Germany. We also added another state to our list this week as book 627 was registered for the second time, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, 170 miles away from Ellicott City. Here are the details:

There are now copies of Pay the Piper in Maryland, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Internationally, Pass the Book is spreading around the world. Germany joins Canada, The United Kingdom, China, Norway, the Republic of Ireland and Russia on the list of countries playing host to a copy of The Secret Hour, and there are copies of Pay the Piper in Australia, India and Japan. Our totals are climbing steadily as copies of The Secret Hour and Pay the Piper are registered in some interesting places.
