“Libraries have always held great meaning for me, and I couldn’t be happier that my children’s hometown is home to such a superlative, dynamic, and responsive library system that keeps paces with their 21st century needs.
While reading great literature is my favorite activity, the opportunity to meet and talk with contemporary authors is the most rewarding and memorable part of my literary experience. That’s why I joined Friends of Howard County Library System – to help make Notable Author events possible. As a Friend, I enjoy exclusive, pre-event social receptions filled with thoughtful conversations that connect my to my community in a meaningful way.
It takes more than public funding to bring these types of dynamic, enriching experiences to our community. When I give to Friends, I feel I am doing my part to open the doors even wider to vibrant intellectual and cultural spaces in my own neighborhood. And that’s what it means to be a Friend!”
