Howard County Library’s Teen ‘Zine is always looking for students who can express themselves.
Teen ‘Zine is an ongoing showcase of talented teens–from poets, artists, and writers to anyone with an opinion and a creative way to express it!
To get your student started as a Teen ‘Zine contributor, encourage him to attend a Teen ‘Zine meeting. Have a whole class full of talented students? Contact the Teen ‘Zine advisor a firstname.lastname@example.org and participate right from your classroom!
Encourage your college bound students to join us on Tuesday, October 21 at 7:00 pm at Howard County Library Miller Branch!

Books with Bite is the theme for Teen Read Week 2008.
Each year the Howard County Library and the Young Adult Library Services Association encourage busy teens to Read for the Fun of It.
This year, we invite teens to participate in our Teen Read Week Read-a-thon. For each hour Howard County teens spend reading, our sponsors will make a donation to Room to Read. Teens can register to participate (starting October 1), then from October 12 to October 16 record the time they spend reading. Teens who record at least five hours of reading, are invited to attend one of six celebrations at a Howard County Library location near them.
Howard County Library staff can visit your classroom to recommend great teen reads and register students for the Read-a-thon. Contact your Library liaison to schedule a visit!
Give your students the research skills to begin and successfully complete their History Day projects with “Prepare for History Day”. Invite Howard County Library staff to your classroom to teach your students how to find a wealth of historical information, multi-media resources, and those all-important primary sources!
Contact your Library liaison to schedule a visit.
