How would you like your students to improve their memory and concentration? Do they need to develop their logical thinking skills? Can they create and test a hypothesis? Then encourage them to join a chess club! Chess builds all these skills and more.
Howard County Library hosts chess clubs at three of our branches. We provide the board, pieces, instruction, and encouragement. Students ages 11 and up provide the brain power. Oh…and it’s fun, too!
Chess clubs meet at:
Central Library on Sundays from 1:00 to 5:00 pm (Feb 7, Mar 7, Apr 11)
Miller Branch on Tuesdays from 7:00 to 8:00 pm (Jan 26, Feb 23, Mar 30, Apr 27)
Savage Branch on Mondays from 5:30 to 6:30 pm (Jan 4 & 26, Feb 1 & 22, Mar 1, 15, & 29, Apr 12)
