  • You Were Always There

In the darkness of all shadows, I close my eyes,
In the blind blissful lies of the world my heart tries to hide.
When I reach out my hand, I feel nothing-it’s all empty.
Deceptions of the world has left me bruised and beat.
I open my mouth to say something-to cry out for help.
But nothing come out, my voice is lost, abandoned by myself.
Just when all hope is seemingly gone, I look and to see-
A speck of light, filtering the ebony, shining right towards me.
Before when my hands found none but air,
Now I reach out I look and I see you’re there.
I was alone, by myself, left for a lie.
I realized, at that moment that you will be at my side.
Through the good, the bad and the adventures we had-
You’ve always been there when I was happy and sad.
We strove to be things we thought we never were
But in the end we found it rotten to the core. The specks of light grows ever so brighter,
    Closer and closer it came.
And just when I though it was within my grasp-
    It soared and flew away.
So close yet so far, that I always knew.
But those who believed in it there were always few.
As of now, you are gone, perhaps even moved on.
But when I need guidance, support-
    Your spirit lingers on.
    Through the darkness, through storm
    Through the raging fire
You were with me, you held my hand.
    You were always there.
But now you’ve gone, torn away, closed your eyes forever.
I think about you, no longer in flesh and I begin to shiver.
You’re not there, now a shadow
Mere reflection of where you once were.
Nothing can replace you-you were my only.
    And you were always there.

  • Colors

    Why is there red,
    The color of love?

    Why is there yellow,
    The color of joy?

    Why is there green,
    The color of growth?

    Why is there blue,
    The color of emotions?

    Why is there purple,
    The color of majesty?

    Why is there white,
    The color of purity?

    Why is there brown,
    The color of security?

    Why is there pink,
    The color of innocence?

    Why is there black,
    The color of death?

Why is the world so bright, while all are so dark?

  • The Life You Threw Away

You once told me to value my life
To always believe and learn to strife.
You held my hand through the years
    Drying up my fallen tears.
    You whispered into my ear
That it was okay and never fear.
And at the time, I had believed you
Taking your hand, as if on cue.
And you drew close, inches from me
I reach for you, I reach and reach.
I feel your breath on my skin,
Dancing so warm, it feels like sin.
I close my eyes and lean forward
    And suddenly I fall, toward-
    Darkness.
You once told me to value my life
To always believe and learn to strife.
Was it a lie? Were you a dream?
An existence, everyday breaking the seem?
I no longer feel your presence
    Have I spoken without pretense?
But now I realize you won’t come back
And you left me defenseless to attacks.
With the wind your voice nowaday sways,
Telling me to keep the life you’ve thrown away

  • Dream

To obtain my own happiness I had done everything,
but nothing to be blamed and accused of.
The sound of footsteps became louder every day,
then I noticed the fact there was no time.
I was a believer in life to be myself always,
and was asking whether I would be alive.

The whole world was at a complete standstill,
and I was in fetters, at the mercy of the mob.
The silent warning became louder every day,
and I kept pretending not to hear.
It’s meaning had been in the eyes of beholder all along.
It had grown dark before I found a sign.

    The forest where you were
    Even now after so long-
The song which I failed to convey to you
is carried off by the wind.
    And it disappeared far away

A sea of grass I’ve never seen
is swaying and rustling in the silver.
This is the scenery at the border,
    between dreams and waking reality.
Is that necessary to meet you?
Or is it for the eyes of someone I have yet to see?
I’ll go on, dividing the wind–
a dream scape of swirling lavender-
    a realm of my own.

The alarm clock will ring soon, huh?
But what’s beyond that might still be a dream, right?
No matter where you are, your precious things don’t change, you know
Even if I wake up, I’m sure I’ll still be right here.
I think that might be what they call courage.

  • Just a Kiss

    You
    With the eyes that conceal
    Even when your heart freezes
    With hurt, pain, hate

    You
    With the reassurance that
    Life will get better,
    That you’ll always be there.

    You
    Telling me you’ll protect
    That you will save
    That you love me

    You
    Holding my hand
    Cupping my face
    Drawing me closer

    You
    Knowing I’m helpless against you
    Knowing I can’t fight you
Knowing that in secret, I lo-

    You
    Who kiss me
With a gentle tap of moist
With restrain, in care for me

    You
    Who release me with lust
    In your deep eyes
    Looks at me intensely.

    I
    Visibly startled
    Can only stare
    And ask “What was that?”

    You
    In the usual, calm tone
    Reply nonchalantly, hiding love
    “Just a kiss.”

  • Wind Line

Let the rain roar, spare the tongue’s transgressions
Allow the blood to spill, set aside the minds’ indulgences.
Tolerate the violence, endure the eternal inferno-but,
Draw a line against the wind and
    Understand; realize; believe; acknowledge;
That the people and things that pass by you
Every day, through the ages and eras-
Because there will always come a time
    When they will disappear-
Fading, dissipating into so much mist.
So cut away the chains that bind your scorched feet
And hands; pick up your vanity anew
And cross the line you’d drawn
    Just so to rise again.

  • Crimson Ebony

    Eyes…the observers of the world
    Voice…the conscience without the brain
Hope…the string of goals to egg people on
    Pain…the signal of life
    Love…the act beyond reason
    Life…the process of time
    Death…the gift of life
    Crimson Ebony…an understanding

  • Time and Time Again

See with your feelings, not with your eyes
That what you may perceive is nothing but lies.
The petty trivialities must be stripped away
To reach and search for what tries to hide.

The heart drifts in and out of the rain
Stabbed with wounds, covered in pain.
And what may seem like a thousand years,
Has only so much-so little-left to gain.

The Finger of Fate writes and writes again,
To mark the paths that we’ve already ran
And though the voice calls out to them,
They won’t heed, they’ve taken their hands.

Blackness and shadows shrouds dangerously close
And you’ve drowned yourself with an addictive dose
Can the sins so be paid off?
White lies beyond the truth, all but pose.

    The Traveler then stops moving,
The paper rips, and he stops searching.
Where have the good men gone? Where are the heros?
    The world now crumbles-seeping…

    Time and time again.

  • What do you Know?

What do you know of pain?
Have you ever felt the sting
    On your flesh,
    Lashing,
    Ripping,
    Tearing.
Have you ever felt your own blood
    Mix with your tears?
    And you are sitting there
    Wondering what you
    Did wrong.

What do you know of guilt?
Have you ever seen the faces
    Behind your closed eyes
    Screaming,
    Crying,
    Pleading.
Have you ever stained your hands
    With someone else’s blood?
And you look at your work
    Searching the crimson
    And smile.

What do you know of hate?
Have you ever seen their eyes
    Crossing your path
    Mocking
    Doubting
    Fearing.
Have you ever felt so hated
That you could feel in it their gazes?
    Where you plaster your face
    With so many masks
    To fit in.

What do you know of death?
When change fails, only outsiders can reach in.

    What do you of love?
Have you ever heard the way
    Whispers dance in ears
    Breathing
    Reassuring
    Accepting.
    Have you ever been held
In a way that made you fly?
Where you feel belonged for once
In many ways you never knew
    Loved.

I know things you do not.

  • Dominican Waterfall

    Dominican Waterfall

A waterfall cascades down a sheer rock wall

    Foaming up the clear water

Icy and numbing a blue green pond is formed

    With orange rock that contrasts

Green fern and moss wend their way up

Up, up, up, where the brown skinned boys climb

To jump gracefully down into the pool

A curtain of white and mist and water

    Surrounded by forest

    Deep but not undisturbed

Many make a pilgrimage to this place

    Of beauty

The air is cool and filled with

Minute droplets of water that gather like dew

Where the sunlight refracts to create diamonds

    Of water
