Established by the Columbia Association’s International Exchange & Multicultural Program 10 years ago, the World Languages Café (WLC) provides a venue where people meet to practice a world language with fellow community members, facilitated by a native or fluent speaker of that language. Established by the Columbia Association’s International Exchange & Multicultural Program 10 years ago, the World Languages Café (WLC) provides a venue where people meet to practice a world language with fellow community members, facilitated by a native or fluent speaker of that language. Please join us for this new quarterly series wherein we will watch films about humans, since all great stories involve great characters, and then we'll discuss them with our fellow humans.
We meet on every fifth Thursday (approximately every three months) at the Elkridge Branch.
The movies are available on DVD from the library collection or via Kanopy streaming service. You can watch the movie at the library with us on May 30, or watch it on your own in advance and then attend the discussion (that will take place after the screening) with your fellow humans, facilitated by library instructors.

The English Conversation Class (ECC) provides opportunities for adult English language learners to practice speaking and listening skills, increase fluency, improve pronunciation skills, and build confidence to think and speak English in a relaxed and fun way. Participants will receive help with vocabulary, idioms, pronunciation, and other practical subjects in daily life.
This free program is hosted by HCLS Elkridge Branch Library and facilitated by community volunteers. The Club will meet weekly on Wednesdays 7-8:45pm. No registration required.
