Do you want to volunteer as a tutor?
- Become a part of your community by volunteering for HCLS Project Literacy
- To work as a tutor, you must have at least a bachelor’s degree and have native or native-like proficiency in English
- You must be available to meet for two hours a week either online or in person for a minimum of six months
- Training and support are provided by Project Literacy. Previous experience is preferred but not required
- As a tutor, you can work with any of the following students:
- an English language learner, helping them acquire English
- a native English speaker, teaching basic literacy skills
- a National External Diploma Program (NEDP) student, helping them earn a high school diploma
- a student preparing for the U.S. citizenship exam
