Learn, share, and take part in free demonstrations and workshops. Activities include:

What is the Seed Library? It is a great opportunity to acquire new varieties, save money, and reduce seed waste while connecting with fellow gardeners. You can take part in the Seed Library by visiting Miller Branch on select dates. While the Seed Library won’t be open on January 25th, you are welcome to visit it on one of the other open dates.
You do not have to bring any seeds to participate in the Seed Drive. Both seeds harvested from your garden and seed packets are welcome. New to seed harvesting? Find advice at https://hclibrary.org/seed-drive/
All ages and experience levels welcome, from those who have never gardened but would like to, to those who have been growing flowers and veggies for years. Families welcome (children must be accompanied).
Workshops:
1-2:30pm: Columbia's "Most Wanted" Invasive Plants
An introduction by Weed Warriors on the harmful effects of invasive plants, as well as an overview of specific species found in this region, particularly in Columbia.
2:30-4pm: Garden Tool Maintenance
This workshop with the Repair Café will cover general tool maintenance with a focus on sharpening general-use tools including utility knives, hori horis, hand pruners, scissors & shears, and loppers.

Digital SAT Practice Test (grades 9-12)

Are you studying for your SAT exam? Experience the Digital SAT by taking a practice exam administered by C2 Education. Return the following Tuesday 1/28 at 7 pm for your practice exam scores and for a Q&A (parents/guardians are welcome to attend the scoreback session).
COMPLETE and RETURN the Student Information Form attached to this class description to [email protected] or in person at the Central Branch by 1/22 to complete your registration. If your form is not submitted by this date, your registration will be cancelled. The information shared will be accessed by C2 Education and the College Board for the purposes of the practice exam. Your scores and log-in information will only be accessible to you and C2 Education.
Please bring your chromebook, calculator and charger if possible. Email [email protected] if you do not have access to a computer and we will reserve one for your use during the test.
