Learn, grow, and make connections by singing, talking, reading, writing, and playing. Read or do an activity from the suggestions, and color in a balloon.

Read, listen, learn, connect and celebrate. Each time you read or do an activity, color in a candy. Keep reading!

Raffle Tickets available at any HCLS Branch
Teens
Earn raffle tickets whenever you read, attend classes, borrow items, or complete challenges. When you complete 10 tickets, visit a branch to receive a prize* and be entered into the grand prize. Continue to submit raffle tickets all summer.

Beyond Words
Teens and Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
This edition of Summer Reading Adventures is based on Beyond Words, a vibrant and inclusive monthly class at select Howard County Library System branches. Beyond Words is designed to spark joy and ignite the imagination of young people and adults with developmental, intellectual, and cognitive disabilities.
Finisher prize: Beyond Words tote bag or choose either the teen or adult finisher prize.

Adult
If you thought that all the Summer Reading fun at the library was just for kids, think again! We have Summer Reading Adventures for everyone. Visit any HCLS Branch to pick up a limited edition reading journal (while supplies last).
Kick off your summer reading journey with the online Adult Summer Reading Showcase on Tuesday, June 3, 7 pm (Online). Join our instructors online as we share our top picks for summer reads!
To complete your Summer Reading Adventure, finish any three challenges or read three books of your choosing. Visit any HCLS branch to complete a finisher’s card. Finishers are then entered into our end-of summer prize drawings and receive a limited edition finisher’s prize (while supplies last).
Starter Prize: Limited Edition Reading Journal
Finisher prize: Limited edition notebook and pen set
Finisher raffle: All finishers are also entered into our End-of-Summer Prize drawings, which includes gift certificates to local stores!
