Dear Parent,
You are your child’s first teacher. Your child’s future success begins at birth with positive family experiences. Howard County Library System’s (HCLS) classes for children ages birth to Kindergarten provide experiences to assist you in preparing your child for Kindergarten. Our Children’s Instructor & Research Specialists have experience and knowledge working with young children. They are innovative, motivated, enthusiastic, and understanding. To provide your child the foundation for school and life-long success, HCLS encourages you to practice the following every day with your child: talk, play, sing, read, and write.
According to ‘Ready At Five’, “A child is ready for school when he/she demonstrates skills and abilities in an array of areas of development.” HCLS classes support you and your child’s development in the following Domains of Learning through experiences in our classes and at home with you.
