I hosted an art show in Columbia MD at a local park. There were multiple young people who vended/ showcased their work! I myself am an artist and like to call myself a community leader/organizer! The event was very successful for all parties who participated! I had a creative station for children. They could also eat my food as I have worked in many culinarily restaurants and attended Arnold CC! The most interesting thing for me (a 24-year-old woman who graduated from Long Reach with multi different races and genders) was that the participating artists were local neighbors teens and adults, upcoming vocalists, Howard County art teachers, and myself. For me, that was beautiful because I held an event and a safe space in the community just as the Columbia Association or a village center would do! I was trusted to do so by the community members who came and observed, showed, or parlayed!
